2015 Sacramento Promenade of Mermaids
Please join us for the 5th Annual Promenade!
The Promenade will begin and end on the boardwalk by the Delta King at 1000 Front Street in Old Town Sacramento on Saturday, May 30th, 2015. We begin assembling by noon and commence the Promenade at 1pm.
You are not required to register to promenade with us.
Register and obtain your entrant number only if you wish to be considered for prizes. Pre-registration is FREE & available via the “registration” link through May 28th. On the day of the event, registration is $5 and will be available starting at noon. (Get there early to register, as all entrants for judging, preregistered or not, will need to be assigned a number at the registration table before the 1pm march begins.)
Prizes will be awarded for BEST COSTUME for both adults and children as well as some miscellaneous categories, to be announced. Judging will be administered by this years King and Queen, who will be chosen at random before the march begins.
(Stanford Youth Solutions is a leader in providing services to young people and their families who struggle with abuse. neglect, mental or behavioral health challenges, or other difficult circumstances. Through intensive community based mental health services, wraparound, therapeutic behavioral services,intensive treatment, foster care, standard treatment foster care, and juvenile justice crime prevention they empower children/youth and their families to solve serious challenges that threaten their ability to stay together. More than two thirds of youth in their care reconnect to a safe permanent family.)
Come one, come all! Mermaids, mermen, pirates and all sea creatures are welcome to Promenade with us along the charming boardwalks of Old Town Sacramento! (We are steampunk friendly and encourage all things nautical.)
Head over to the registration page to sign up only if you wish to be considered for prizes, which are awarded at the grandstand (start/finish point) immediately following the Promenade! The wearing of nautical attire is strongly encouraged.
Bring a new pair of kids shoes, any size, to donate to Foster Kids and receive a free raffle ticket for lovely prizes. Mermaids have no need for shoes so why not donate a pair of shoes to our foster kids?
On the preceding Friday, don’t miss the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L street, Sacramento, Ca, Mermaid Swim as part of Sacramento Mermaid Weekend. We will be capping off Sacramento Mermaid Weekend Saturday with an After Party from 4 to 7pm hosted by Dive Bar and Pizza Rock on the K street mall so as to accommodate ALL AGES. The Dive Bar mermaids will be available for photo ops. There will be food and drink specials for those in costume, face painting and a splashy tank show.
Check out the 2015 Promenade Route periodically! The City of Sac may be working on the wharf area which would move us to the lil park just north of the schoolhouse on Front street. (very close by). We may be detoured but not deterred and we are on rain or shine.

This year, Dive Bar is hosting an After Party for All ages in front of their establishment on the K street mall. There will be drink specials and food specials, provided by Pizza Rock. There will be raffle prizes, photo ops with the Dive Bar Mermaids, games and face painting for the kids. Lots of fun with more details to come. Stay tuned.
